Super yard sale finds

I am an avid yard sale enthusiast!!! When I get the paper or get on line, it is the first section I go to and hope that there is something going on that weekend. I am fortunate that my whole family enjoys searching through peoples junk to find treasures for our home. I am a firm believer that there is no reason to buy something new if you can re-purpose a similar item and get it at a very discounted price. I love the dings and dents on some items, adds character!!! I also believe in buying beautiful items with no purpose in mind and getting them home to see where they belong.
$3 Salvation Army find

Using a pitcher as a utensil holder next to my old yard sale stove looks fantastic,
$1 Church sale

using a beautiful candy dish in the middle of my table for napkins makes for a fun holder and an easy dispenser,
Yellow vase 50cent yard sale, Mickey Mouse vase(bamboo stick are in it) 50cent yard sale

bunching mismatched vases with different silk flowers and bamboo rods look fantastic next to my husbands mounted duck.
The hubs had to fix the bottom of the drawer, the finch house my son made in Cub Scouts, the picture frames are from yard sales (quarter items), the basket box is full of vintage buttons I use for crafting ($5 yard sale) the deer horn bowl is from a discount store ($1.99) and is filled with smelly beads ( ten cent yard sale) and a pine cone (back yard) and the tin bowl used to have a candle in it but I re-purposed with pine  cones (back yard) for a country look.

I am a sucker for tables so this $25 solid wood stand with mismatched knobs and cracks for extra character worked its way into my heart then into my entryway under my husbands old mounted deer. I will also take every opportunity to go through peoples free items left by the road or in their free bins at yard sales and take what most people think of as junk and use them in my home and make them beautiful.

My husband takes scrap wood and makes beautiful pieces of furniture for me...some look new others look like they were left in the rain for years.

No matter what I find, I can make it look like it has been in my house the whole time and I spent a fortune on it to get it there!!!  I enjoy searching for hidden treasures and you can too! Enjoy!!! I will.
